What happens to the waste in your skip?
The waste you put in your skip gets transported to our Transfer Station where it is tipped out and ready for processing. Hardcore or soil-only skips are deposited directly into piles for turning into recycled aggregates, topsoil and subsoils for use in construction projects. Plasterboard gets stored for recycling by plasterboard manufacturers at our own waste transfer station.
All other waste is sorted by machine munched, trammelled, handpicked, blown, and picked by a magnet to separate the various waste streams. The non-recyclable material is loaded into large ejector trailers and transported to landfill sites within our area. All other wastes are segregated stockpiled and transported to suitable recycling facilities to turn into other products or fuel stock for waste to energy plants.

Frequently Asked Questions
How much will it cost to hire a skip?
The price will depend on the size of the skip, what you want to put in it and where you live. Please call 01934 424242 for quotes
Can I place a skip on the road outside my property?
You will need a permit if you want the skip placed on a public highway. We will arrange this for you. The cost is between £100 and £120 and takes from 5-7 working days to obtain. We are unable to get licenses in some areas. For more information, please call 01934 424242.
How much will the skip weigh when I fill it so I can find a suitable place to put it?
2yd to 16yd skips can weigh up to a maximum of 8 tonnes when loaded. The limits are based on the overall weight of the vehicle with the skip on it when removed.
How do I know what size / type of skip I will need?
Our trained operatives will talk to you about your specific requirements and they will be able to determine the type of skip you need. See our sizing guide for more information.
What kind of waste can I put in a skip?
All kinds of general waste. You CANNOT put in food waste, electrical items or hazardous waste such as asbestos, chemicals, oils or fridges. Please call us if you are unsure about any items intended for the skip.
I'm digging out for a hardstanding, what is the biggest skip I can fill with soil and hardcore?
The largest skip we provide for soil and hardcore is a 6 yard. We offer reduced prices in this case. We can arrange a 20 yard Roll-on-off, but you will need plenty of space to load and unload.
How long will it take to get a skip delivered to me?
We would ask you to give us a day’s notice of your requirements. We can often deliver same day but the earlier you call, the better.
How long can I keep the skip and when will it be collected?
The cost of the skip includes ten days hire. When you are ready, just give us a call, and we will arrange collection. If we do not hear from you we will call you shortly after the expiry of the ten days to arrange collection.
How do I pay for the skips?
Customers without an account will be asked to provide payment card details with their order or agree to pay cash to the driver. Unfortunately, we cannot accept cheques unless cleared before delivery.
